We had to hang a basket on the outside, our Dachshund would grab the mail and fight it to death.

From Lynn’s Comments: I don’t think front doors are made with mail slots any more. Too bad…we had a lot of fun with ours!

Many Canadian apartment buildings and houses still have those mail slots.

Besides being an unwelcome intruder, this is why the mail gets torn up.
