I have a bird feeder suction-cupped to a window for my cats’ entertainment. (Of course, I’m the one who spends the most time watching them.) I watch the cardinals pick up a safflower seed, twirl it around in their beaks, then spit out the shell. I wonder if they can also tie a cherry stem into a knot in there.
