Petey: Alice? What are you doing in my room? Alice: I've been lying here looking at little neuro comics all afternoon. Petey: You have? Aren't they great? Alice: NO. They're boring. Petey: They might be a little boring at first, but after about twelve hours of staring at Little Neuro you'll have a breakthrough! Petey: Then suddenly your third eye opens and you can see for miles inside of your own head! And you notice that Little Neuro has a whole universe in every panel! Alice: Twelve hours?! that's like a year almost! I've got stuff to do! Petey: But- Alice: I'm a busy person with no time for nonsense! Dill: This third eye is it up Petey's nose, or on his stomach or what?

Role-reversal doesn’t always quite work out as we (i.e., my hero, Petey, and I) might have hoped. And, dare I say, Alice’s sense of time is somewhat underdeveloped, even for a four-year-old: after all, she herself said she had already been at Little Neuro “all afternoon”!

I had to go and look it up yet again, something which I frequently do: Richard’s entry on Wiki. It has one of the best strips he ever created. I did try to post a link but I well understand why it was blocked by GoComics posting rules, so I would invite everyone who love Cul de Sac to take a wee trip via maybe Google to one of Richard’s best ever strips. (It’s the one where Alice dresses the cicadas!)
