Striper, remember that your lord Jesus spent MOST of his time daring to walk among the homeless and those involved in what others considered sinful ways. He did this specifically to inform such as you.

A man selling fresh fruit on a corner for cash is a crime to some hateful people. We are a nation of immigrants. One in four people on the planet is a muslim. But people like HQ, striper, etc must hate everyone but those just like them.

    Not conservative, and not christian.

Striper, You find it ironic that a liberal may ask questions based on your psuedo-biblical worldview. There are liberal spiritual people, you know.

Yes, Jesus told sinners not to sin. I think you are wrong when you say that the homeless are too dangerous to be around. Jesus WAS around them most of his time. That’s my point. The Stripers of Jesus’ day were telling him not to; those icky homeless, destitute sinners were not worth hanging around. Jesus chided them. Am I wrong about that?

You only use your teachings to tear down. You show no love. “They will know we are christians by our love” is how it goes. I’m not the one who claims to speak with the voice of god. You do claim so. You show no love. So don’t be surprised that others do not consider you a true follower of the prince of peace.

Striper, pray for forgiveness for being a liar. You stated:

“Go down to the homeless shelter in the inner city. If you dare walk around and speak with the homeless people. If you are really gutsy go in their and pass yourself off as a homeless person. If you dared to do any of this you would find out that most of them are heavily involved or have been heavily involved in drugs, alcoholism, theft and pornography.”

    Then you defend by saying:

“I did not say it was too dangerous to hang around the homeless.”

You say you do not claim to speak with the voice of god; only that, of course, you state clearly what is right and wrong. Right and wrong according to whom? I submit you would say “god’s will”. So you know god’s will, and altho you don’t follow it yourself, you condemn us for not following it. Whatever.

You are also a judger. I am neither retired nor unemployed, having found a job several weeks ago. Judger.

You hate poor people, minorities, immigrants, dark people, non-christians, anyone who asks you for help, folks with a different ideology, foreign cultures and all people who are drowning in need.

You are NOT a christian. Be afraid, for by YOUR very own rules, you must know that Jesus will deny you.

About two years ago ‘our’ local sheriff Joe Arpio got permission to use his deputies to apprehend illegal aliens. The intent of the program (287g) was to verify the status of people apprehended for crimes, and deport any illegal aliens. By most standards, this effort has been an outstanding success. In the past two years 30,000 illegal immigrants have been quietly identified and turned over to immigration authorities.

“Sheriff Joe” doesn’t like to do things quietly. Over the past two years he has conducted highly publicized ‘immigration sweeps’ in areas with a high percentage of Hispanic residents and of businesses that hire illegal immigrants (landscapers, cleaning contractors, roofers, etc). These sweeps tie up to 50 deputies for the better part of a day. The result of these sweeps? A total of 264 illegal immigrants have been captured; half of those had committed no crime other than entering the country illegally.

In the meantime, the sheriff’s office has a severe backlog of undelivered summonses, and is often unable to deliver prisoners to the courthouse in time for their scheduled trial.

Striper, you just keep proving how confused you are. You say:

“As far as being around large amounts of homeless people it would not be safe for elderly, young or the vulnerable.”

I would guess, then, that you think the homeless who congregate in large numbers (not amounts) are comprised only of young, strong male, um, bucks, no? There must not be any elderly homeless, young homeless, or vulnerable homeless, whatever the hell that means.

Striper, as you say: if I burn in hell, that is my choice. If I go to heaven, that’s my choice. If I believe neither will happen, that is my choice. If I believe my only post-death contribution will be to feed the earth, that is my choice. Thanks for reminding me. My choice involves all of life; not just your threat of H E L L.

    Have a good autumn day!

It’s amazing how easily a cartoon can spark deep sentiments in people. The above comments definitely show how far the pendulum can swing. I was an LA Co Deputy for 20 years….now I teach high school kids (Spanish/Chicano Studies and Law Enforcement). I am also a lifetime member and active in my church, at one time having been a missionary in Centro America. My perspectives of life and people have changed many time during the course of my 52 years. The cartoon makes me smile because it’s true! That was me at one time! I’m not proud of it, but that was then. Did I learn from that whole experience? Yep. But now I can teach kids about culture, understanding and tolerance. I believe that knowledge is power. I encourage my students to grab the brass ring and get that diploma, get some college, and really, make a difference in their world. Our world. I teach them that if you can be tolerant, patient, active and understanding….you can do powerful things in this life. I really appreciate all of the above comments and I might even use them in some of my classes. I “get” the religion issue, but be careful throwing that out in such a forward manner. Think before you “cast your pearls before the….” I also get the conservative, anti-immigration, anti-? attitude. Cops do get jaded, they do get prejudiced, they do get cynical. Believe me….work gangs in So Central/East LA for many years, throw working narcotics into that mix as well, and you end up all of the above. An occupational hazard. Please pray for them….they really are the thin blue, green/tan, line between us and whomever. I hope my “two cents” was helpful in some way. Try to be gentle with your comments, mine came from the heart, my life and my experience. I won’t get offended though. I finish by saying that life should be lived with purpose, love and energy. “Come home with your shield, or on it; but DON’T LIVE OR DIE IN VAIN!’ Nos vemos y no hay pedo hermanos!

skedoosh, thanks for your comment. I personally believe this society would do better to be tolerant of others. As long as the behavior does not endanger another then be tolerant. Of course the devil is in the details, what I consider a potential danger someone else does not, and what I consider personal behavior someone else considers it to be a danger. For instance I think our gun laws should be more restrictive and I think gays should be permitted to marry. See what I mean?

I love how the word “police” is split up so it appears that “lice” is the label under the profiling cop.

Yep, striper, Ima liberal. It’s true. Suck it.

Mmmmmmm, fresh oranges. Sounds good right about now, as the leaves are flying off the trees in the October wind!

I’m going to go put up my satanic, liberal Halloween decorations; the little plastic pumpkin lights that (Striper knows!) represent deviant sexual impulses. Also I have a pretend headstone that says RIP on it, and some candles. Striper, remind me how evil I am again!! How evil and worthy of hatred all of us are to you.

Poor Striper! Yeah, the gay rights protest march in Washington was organized by homosexuals. No sh*t, sherlock.

striper77 …. ” They ” should have your pity Brother , your testimony of love . Did you read Mat 7:6 WE are the lion food not the lost . Silly me thinking this knowledge is a no-brainer for Believers . striper I’ve been on a 60 year quest for truth . The Almighty permits me to gleam a little now and then . Just one of many gems I take as chiseled in stone . Luk 8:36“Therefore be compassionate, as your Father also is compassionate. Luk 6:37 “And do not judge, and you shall not be judged at all. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned at all. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven

Mat 7:1 “Do not judge, lest you be judged. Mat 7:2 “For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged. And with the same measure you use, it shall be measured to you

So , please forgive me , I’ll ask my יהושע for the same measure .

What is the holy spirit for? Joh 7:37 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, יהושע stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink. Joh 7:38 “As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.”1 Footnote: 1Isa. 44:3, Jer. 2:13, Jer. 17:13, Zech. 14:8, Ps. 36:8,9, Prov.14:27, John 4:10, John 6:63, 1 Cor. 10:4, Rev. 7:17, Rev. 21:6, Rev. 22:1 & 17. Joh 7:39 And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given,1 because יהושע was not yet esteemed. Footnote: 1Ezek. 36:26-27, Joel 2:28-32, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:4 & 33, Acts 10:44-47, Acts 11:15-16, Eph. 5:18.

The narrow gate Act 2:38 after that .

Joh 16:12 “I still have many words to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now. Joh 16:13 “But when He comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He shall guide you into all the truth. For He shall not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears He shall speak, and He shall announce to you what is to come. Joh 16:14 “He shall esteem Me, for He shall take of what is Mine and announce it to you. Joh 16:15 “All that the Father has is Mine. That is why I said that He takes from what is Mine and announces it to you. YOU can try beating truth into a convert . Your just trying too stealing the Spirits job .

If a Spirit is leading you posting these comments . Brother PRAY about the source of that Spirit !

striper one question for you ..Is your Almighty GOD in control (Rev 22:13 “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.) ?

If I may humbly serve you ask . Please lay your Shillelagh down . Please forgive me if this makes no sense . I’ll put my pearls away and stop doing too you what you are doing with that shillelagh . May HE who is , bless you and yours .

Striper rejects everyone and every premise.

Striper, how will you know when the god you worship chooses to talk to you? Does he never speak thru any earthly voice to teach or instruct you? You consider yourself above everyone else’s opinion or point of view. You have never once said anything encouraging to anyone here, even those who choose to engage you in your religious terms.

Pride, Striper. It’s not only unbiblical, it’s unattractive. It makes you sound like an assh*le, not a learned, beard stroking, wisdom dispensing elder, as you would like to appear.

Basically it is a battle of non-christian vs. christian.

The christian worships in solitude not a church. The christian also helps the poor no matter who they are, turns the other cheek when stuck, and basically is an all around wonderful person.

The unchristian attends bible study at Pat Robert’s church (since anyone speaking on behalf of God is an outright liar), picks and chooses which rules they will follow (like following Leviticus on adultery but not on slavery), and spends most of their time hating rather than loving one another despite their differences.

Religion can be used to improve one’s life or corrupt the mind, and quite frankly Stripper and Churchill are the latter.
