Leave her behind if she’s not ready on time; make her walk to school.

I work better on a tight deadline too sometimes, but I wish I didn’t. I’m trying to get my kids in the habit of not waiting until the last minute to do things.

Speaking as a former teenager, Mom’s customized ‘bucket of ice-water’ while I was IN bed always worked for me. Holly needs the same treatment.

the line “make her walk” doesn’t work in this generation, They start walking but don’t actually get to school,, many a cell phone has rang with “is your child sick, she isn’t here today”. Believe me I’m going through it.

She should take away something away or force her to do simething for every minute she is late. 1 min late= no phone, 2 min late= late no internet, and worst of them all 30 min late= Have her wear her grandma’s clothes to school

Put her clothes and breakfast in the car…she can get it all done on the way if the distance is far enough. Even with a seat belt on you can wiggle into a top….

When I was five, I started walking to school in Pittsburgh. In St. Pete, I walked 1 1/3 miles to school, then rode a bike starting at age 10. In high school I had an extra period with chorus, so instead of using the morning school bus, took a city bus and transferred on 5th Ave. One morning we missed connections, and started walking the rest of the way toward school. A guy was takling his son, and picked us up. Since there were nine of us, we squished them pretty good. (Things were different back then – safer, or at least we thought so. The location of sex offenders wasn’t available on the Internet.)

Nice try, Holly. You’re not getting off that easy.

I love how Jan Eliot is continuing not only the main story line but also Alix’s throw away line from yesterday by having her eat ‘second breakfast’ today. Also, Alix looks cute with her chipmunk cheek in panel three :-)

Make her pick out her outfit the night before and then lock the closet.

I once worked with an MD who was like that. Then, he missed his flight to a meeting. Got a lot better.

Procrastinators unite! I also get more done when I’m running tight on time. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
