    Perfect example of leaving the “boosters” behind, you know that “dead weight” and “deadbeats” all the “righties” aren’t bright enough to know, is THEM when that 1% gets done using them, as well.

    I knew this was the plan ever since I read “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Right from the beginning, I realized the flaw in the plan of the 1% was to exclude the super poor. I am of course speaking of illegal aliens. The people, who cook for them, wash their dishes and do their landscaping. They will starve to death in very untidy households. As they say, “the best laid plans of mice and weasels often go astray”.

    The sad part of this is that more than half of the poor think they are middle class.

    I have to add this. I cannot wait for Pat Robertson’s explanation for the reason a hurricane clobbered the republican national convention. Did they do something to anger God? On the other hand, is God simply trying to keep them indoors to protect them from the Godless heathens? The odds are both of my guesses are incorrect and he will, along with his staff make up something even more bizarre.

    Laughing at Ima is even better free entertainment. I should point out that most rich people over the millenia either inherited their wealth or inherited a huge head start (and this is true today as well). It would be interesting to see what would happen if the people who were born on third base and erroneously think they hit a triple would have to actually take their turn at bat like the rest of us. I’m not advocating the re-distribution of wealth or anything, of course, but I do ponder this and think it would be interesting to watch.

    The “class war” if there was such a thing is that salaries are not high enough for the working people of this country to be “consumers” anymore. Businesses need to show growth but who can afford their products, except the 1%. Instead of less taxes for the rich…how about swapping the capital gains tax rate with the payroll tax rate.

    If the middle class has no money to spend, the economy goes down the toilet. More money to the bottom 95% goes a hell of a longer than more money to the top 5%.

    This demonstrates the raise in income for each group. The upper 1%=400%increase. Middle income/working =0 to 1 1/2%, The poor= -4 to 0%.

    Kind of sad that this conversation has been hijacked over to a discussion of “The Hitchhikers Guide…”. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Republicans with help from some Democrats,are preparing to make the past 50 years look like a Utopia compared to where we’re heading. No environmental protection, no regulation of the financial markets, destruction of the public education system, turning over the forests to the logging companies, frackers, and chemical companies that poison our air and water and food. Reall funny!

    Jude, I agree. The only thing not quite right is for the middle class to be falling too. With R&R’s planned tax policy, the adding of about $2,000 a year more taxes for a family it won’t take long to join the poor who may live in workhouses like in Oliver Twist. And lots of orphanages to house all the unwanted babies when women can’t even buy birth control. THe food safety going down, the forests vanishing The scarcity of potable water, children working for a pittance since the public schools will be vanishing too.You said it right!

    It seems our nation has been taken over by the enemies of the American Government AND the Citizens. It sounds funny to say this, but “patriots” have done far more terrorist acts in the last dozen years than any other enemy. We need to find a way to get the “patriots” and fox watchers to listen. To look for themselves and not just believe it because fox said it. Looks dismal. we gotta keep Obama another 4 years and get the tea-heads out of congress too in order to escape this awful future.

    Jude, as you’re apparently aware, the House Natural Resources Committee, under the “leadership” of “Doc” Hastings has put forth so many TOTALLY IDIOTIC pieces of “legislation” in an effort to take away Executive Branch authority, and DESTROY the nation’s resources, it can only be called treason. IF they get the Executive, and any more votes in the Senate, and maintain their ability to continue to castrate the House, we are all in very, very, deep “doo doo”.

    The JBS folks out there are still trapped in 1929, and have the ability to blame THAT “collapse” on the “liberals” of the day, you know, like Harding, who represents a precursor to Romney/Ryan.

    @Walrus Gumbo:

    According to Pew, only 4% of Americans identify as either atheist or agnostic, while the Republican/Democrat split is pretty close to 50/50 (I’m including unaffiliated and moderates on your side, but disaffected/moderate but socially liberal on mine). So at least 46% of Democrats believe in God. Further, is it your assertion there are no Republican atheists? I personally know 3 and I’m just one guy.

    @Walrus Gumbo:

    I know several Republicans whom I would never consider ‘uninformed’. We’ve had some spirited discussions, but are able to agree on places. I prefer to focus upon that which which we agree.

    It is unfortunate we cannot agree that we are the people. Our ability to disagree is our strength. The founding fathers were wise.

    I’ll wager the two of us can find something on which to agree.

    I’ll ante up: ’Corporations are NOT citizens." Call or raise?

    “If the government would stop taking such a big chunk of money from EVERYONE the economy would boom”HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh yeah, poor romney, how can he survive with only 86% of his income. And GE and wells fargo, those poor, poor, corperations.Govenment taking a big chunk? Were you alive in the 80’s when st reagan took 50%, or how about the 50’s when Eisenhower had a top marginal tax rate in the 90’s? But hey, if you think taxes are high now, vote for romney, and watch your bill go UP.

    Thats what people said would happen the first time Obama was elected, as of today, taxes are lower then under bush.romney on the other hand will raise your taxes by about 2000 dollars a year. Of course that has to come from an independent pannel, because romney won’t release the details of his tax plan.

    The stimulus (the one people like you consider a failure) cut taxes on 95% of Americans. He also cut the payroll tax. And how has Obama hampered wealth creation when corperations are sitting on TRILLIONS?

    The 1% are screwed because they don’t know how to farm, irrigate or build houses wherever they’re heading to. The poor sure as heck aren’t going to help, and they’ve just abandoned the only group, the Middle Class, who has always done all the dirty work and gotten the short end of the stick. Good bye Mankind.
