Hello Neighbors,When was the last time candidates ran on actual issues and provided details and proofs for those issues? Why is it negative campaining influences us so much? Alot of folks spend so much time working, commuting, then dealing with responsibilities at home they don’t have time to follow news and read articles in papers or are online…do we just watch the ads on TV and hear them on the radio and make gut decisions based on how those ads effect us emotionally? Both sides are guilty of abuse, dishonesty, and of inciting anger, rage, and perhaps even violence with their negativity. If this is how our leaders are trying to Unite us, we are in deep trouble. If we can’t trust them, we must trust each other. A good way to start is to simply be respectful to one another. Just because ‘Dad’ acts like a jerk sometimes, it doesn’t mean we have to. We don’t have to agree, we just have to respectful. That’s how community works.Respectfully,C

C Downs … I appreciate your sentiments, but you can’t live in a world of ponies, rainbows and lollipops when voters are being successfully convinced that you’re a muslim socialist. Obama will survive this race by fighting dirty and he’ll learn a valuable lesson about how to be an executive in his second term. Now is a time for ruthlessness.

Well, when you have 93% of the media rooting for Obama, it might seem like an unfair fight. Fortunately most Americans are smart enough to see through that garbage.

the gop feels that is unfair? didn’t gop state legis. pass voter id laws to combat “voter fraud?” the same state legis extend voter hours in republican districts, but cut hours in democrat districts.

Democrats have learned. We learned that if you elect a rich Republican Businessman he will ruin a balanced budget, start an unnecessary, unfunded war, and crash the economy. We’ve also learned that the GOP is in no hurry to repair the damage, and would rather blame any setbacks on the people trying to improve things instead of the ones who caused the problems in the first place.

The Democrats indeed need to “fight dirty”, by making the voters actually see Mitt and the Republicans REAL record. Do NOT quote them “out of context”, but rather expose fully what they’re really saying.

The “dirtiest thing” you can do to Republicans, is quote them.

The summation of the last four years since Obama was elected, and yet to take office, from “Boehner and the brain trust” has been summed up in one prejudicial word that became a campaign: “Kenyan”.

dycel: The scholarship of some of these postings amazes me. “Lord Axton said it best in 1786 Power Corrupts. Wealths need to “own” everything has always included the people.” Who is this Lord Axton and didn’t wealth’s need the apostrophe? I recall something along the lines of “All power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” However, it wasn’t Axton, but the English historian and baron John Emerich Edward Dalberg-Acton whose dates in my unabridged dictionary are 1834-1902. This information could be obtained from most almanacs, biographical dictionaries, Bartlett’s, etc., or just phoning the local library.

^The toon is dead ON! The biggest disappointment to many on “the left” has been the failure of the Democratic party to “fight back”, not with as egregious a pack of lies, and abuse, as Republican folks like Rove have used, but at least they should have been “capable” of pointing out just how bad those lies have been with some success.

Oh whatever, the dems are CHAMPS at slinging mud and when it’s turn about, they cry foul. Figures, they can dish it out but sure can’t take it. They also have absolutely nothing to run on because they have a dismal failure of a record the past 4 yrs.

So you’re trying to tell me that it was “Liberal Policies” that ruined the Clinton/Gingrich balanced budget and debt paydown plan, and not some idiot’s idea that it was more important for the rich to get tax cuts?
