Right, they bought TWO gifts…. so maybe they should have given Marlene AND Dale the salt shaker….and then given them BOTH the pepper grinder for Christmas? They sure know how to make the $3 sale bin at the hardware store stretch a long way!
But what really has me confused is that, all indications in the dialogue to the contrary, Marlene IS holding a salt shaker.
Plus I don’t see a star anyplace.Maybe I’m just tired?Or maybe JULIE got confused when she re-used an old drawing?Oh, my head….

But in keeping with the “opposite” nature of today’s cartoon….I’m going to bed.
“S” is for Pepper Grinder???? She has the Salt shaker in her hand!!!
It has a stupid “S” on it! Or are we only seeing the last or three letters of what is really on the “shaker”?
There are no stars, they are all burned out in Crustwood today and tonight. Total eclipse of the stars.The lights are also out and everybody is gone, a mass mental blackout.
