weird thing about the scouts is local scouts have so much flexibility on who joins or who leads: agnostics, atheists, gay parents, etc…not, the national level scouts who until recently had to disclose their book of pedophile scout leaders.

Most paedophiles are active within the family. If you want to blame someone for being raped as a male child; look to your uncles, grand parents etc. I know a woman who’s grand father and uncles used to rape her regularly.
Rumors were quite strong at the time that Lord Baden-Powell was himself a tad “light in the loafers”. In that era, a general had a family, and maybe a “guy friend” on the side. The scouts should simply be all-inclusive.

I am an Eagle Scout. I enjoyed every minute of my scouting, but now I am saddened deeply by how the actions of so few have scarred, tainted, and utterly ruined the image of the BSA. Please do not judge us all because of a select few. Morally Straight means a lot more than sexual preference.
