I saw a report the other day that the FDA is considering banning SPF numbers above 30. Apparently, once you get past 30, the effectiveness levels off, so anything higher than 30 is a marketing gimmick. Apparently, SPF 15 blocks 93% of UV rays, but SPFs 30, 45 and 60 all block 96%.
