Looks a little like a Flattop relative (or with those couple sprouts of hair on top, maybe Ambush Bug)!

Tracy has to survive. He’s the star of this strip.

The “Mistress” makes me think of Mrs. Meers from Thoroughly Modern Millie. Is Tracy on his way to China? “Sad to be all alone in the world.”

Hey! Tracy hasn’t even had a chance to get to the hospital for treatment of his shotgun wound! But I already don’t like this creepy gang of kidnappers-and-who-knows-what-else; Franz, Mustache-guy, and “Mistress”! Very creepy indeed!—And how did they happen to be on the scene with an ambulance as if they knew in advance of the shoot-out and that Dick would be among the wounded?

I think the BIG question is WHY do they want Tracy? If they wanted him dead, he wouldn’t be sedated, he’d be toast! Mike and Joe, this looks like the beginning of another beautiful storyline.

Seventeen, and its only 6:11am eastern.. dang! lol stiletta..ifthats her driving, is an evil looking woman to be sure, but judging by her clothing and the name of her one henchman, i wonder what eastern european accent she would have ;) tess’ shocked look at the rudeness displayed by the “EMT” is brilliant, and it seems that johnny (THE MAN!!!) adonis might just stick around for yet ANOTHER adventure! great wrap up to the mr crime saga, and riding the crest right into the new story..excellent way to kep the adrenaline going! but… WHERES FRIZZLETOP??! was that phone call the ONLY time she’s going to make an appearance? i think she may tie into the new story somehow!

    Timmy!

Back on Monday, A Person of Interest noticed that one of the EMTs in the background looked sinister. Good catch, Person! Looks like you were right. And, I also ask, with Sisyphos, just how DID they know to have their fake ambulance on hand at just this moment? Maybe they somehow were able to listen in on the Police radio band?

Poor Tracy! At least he’s not going to the opera or circus for a peaceful evening. As the Beatles sang, “he’s gt a ticket to ride” allright!

Brilliant plot twist ! It almost seems a natural flow into the new story. Tracy injured and being celeverly spirited away . . . for what (?) torture and ultimate death ? Seems we are dealing with Flattop’s wife, yet she does seem rather young to be the mother of Anlgeltop and Flattop Jr. Must be in the local genes. Why? Even her head shape looks familiar. Maybe the product of a tad of in-breeding in them Cookson Hill ?..

Looks too, like the new Teams first ’ Death Trap ’ for Tracy. He will likely be spirited away to a private location. And how the heck will the good guys find him ?

    Interesting days ahead !

Franz bears a little resemblance to the late, great, Rick Fletcher in the last panel.

Woo Hoo!Got to love this new story! The dust is barely settled from the raid on Panda’s, and Tracy is abducted! Why? Who? How? And were is he being taken? And I already like Stiletta! (“Mistress”? That alone spells trouble for Tracy!)But gosh, guys – you didn’t give us a chance to catch our breath – and find out what happened to Davey’s corpse, and see if Tonsils died from overeating!

BTW, I’ve been looking at today’s strip in B&W, and I’m not so sure that those two lines are actually part of her hairdo. That may be a colorist error, because in B&W they seem to be part of the background, like the roof of the ambulance.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Either we as a society have gotten so used to jumping around and needing excitement that we don’t care about backstories, much less FINISHING a story, much less EXPLAINING a story! There has been SO much jumping around in this new thread with new writers that you CAN’T keep track. No background or explaination of how Tess got into a private detective job, or anything surrounding it. One day a few weeks ago Cheif Patten is shot, then it takes a few weeks to find out eh, just a minor wound. Characters jumping in and out of the storyline so often that you can’t keep track of what part they are in the story. There’s NO buildup to anything, then a bunch of action and you doin’t know what’s going on, then move on to a new story thread with all new characters! It’s getting OLD! Gould must be rolling in his grave! And DON’T say I don’t know what I’m talking about! I know Dick Tracy’s history like the back of my hand, I’ve read EVERY strip ever published! Before these current writers it took FOREVER to finish a story line, and now THESE guys are on the bullet train express to get a story over with before it’s barely begun and tosses in villians without buildup everyday! Dick Tracy now is barely a shadow of it’s former glory!

I think it comes down to the simple fact that you can’t please everyone all of the time. Some people here have complained when they felt events were moving too slowly!.The stories do move quickly and you really need to be paying attention. There are no recaps, with the possible exception of some Sunday content overlapping with the dailies. I don’t mind because the stories make sense for me and it’s hard enough waiting a day or two for something to happen, never mind a week or two. .The current strip would fit perfectly in comic book format. They wouldn’t have to clip out any panels of duplicate content, something that had to be done even back in the Gould days.
