I also assume that at least some of this money is spend on making sure the damned things are secure. Last thing we need is for one to go missing… I don’t like the fact that they exist but they do and we have them so they must be maintained and secured. I also suspect that mutually assured destruction is the only thing that keep the West and East from war several times.
Thousands more of what you don’t really need is “sound budgeting”?? Cutting back on defense, and yes nukes, isn’t hardly the same as castration, despite what Republicans in the grip of the MIC would have you believe.
