It moves you forward in time an hour for every hour you stand in the box. Just like every other time machine (so far).

Didn’t Verne meet the Doctor earlier this year? http://www.gocomics.com/overthehedge/2012/01/29

No, RJs doesnt shop at Calvin’s box store. Calvin’s time machine is with the opening upwards. RJ’s version would be a transmogrifier and not a time machine. By flipping it over, Bill Waterson can’t sue for copyright infringement. :)

For some reason when I first saw RJ’s time machine, I thought it looked like the TARDIS

I am thinking that Vern forgot he encountered the real TARDIS on January 29th, 2012, when the Doctor told him not to say a word for 10 minutes or the temoral wave would collapise and the universe would vanish.

Actually, you can travel forward in time. If we were to travel as fast as the speed of light, time for the traveler would slow down while time went on normally outside. Could make it so that for every hour the traveler would “experience,” a year of normal time would pass. This is because no one can travel faster than light; and since time x rate = speed, adding an increase to time could make the traveler move faster than light. So, to compensate, the flow of time is decreased while the rate stays constant. Another way is through massive gravity at the event horizon of a black hole, but that is for another time =D.

I think travelling sideways in time would be more fun, and more useful. (Think instantaneous teleportation. See what I mean?)

Ok. Verne has been replaced by a replica, since last week he held the keys to the universe and now he doesn’t believe in breaking a few laws of pyshics before dinnertime.

I love Over the Hedge but sometimes, the anti-intellectualism is just too much.
