As a retiree I can relate to days being packed.

Sort of makes up for all those days listening to Mrs. Wormwood drone.

Sounds good to me, I’d take a book though.

Really miss those packed childhood summers. Aimless adventures in the mysterious landscapes of our backyard, digging roads in the dirt, making up games with whatever we had in hand, running and laughing just because, catching fireflies against a star lit sky in the fading heat of late evening in the serenade of crickets. Wouldn’t it be great to just step back to one of the moments…just for a single moment…one more experience…

I envy you. 11- 17 was a great time. Wish my antique legs could do half of what they did back then, when they were carrying 100+ fewer pounds,

I despise summer. But then I have a very low heat tolerance – 25 degrees makes me sweat.

Well I hope you packed a lunch, Calvin.

It’s funny how, even with nothing to do, kids always find stuff to fill the days with.

@SUSAN NEWMAN: The branch is less likely to break when Susie is underneath. Hobbes becomes much lighter when other people are around.

Not true if retired, still married and you are the male!!!!!!

@PixieJane,You asked about how that topic came up. It’s a long story, but you can check back through the last three days comments. Suffice it to say that Night-Gaunt49 made a derogatory comment about the “Abrahamic Religions”. I responded, and he/she then found fault with some people’s view of sex education. I responded with my comments about condoms in public schools, and on it went.

Something about water balloons was magical. The anticipation of whacking someone while you were filling them…

Calvin’s summer days are sorta like big balls of cotton candy – they look big but there’s not that much to them…

What if the his Dinosaur Teacher (Mrs. Wormwood?) walks under the branch? Do you spend the balloon on her? Something he wouldn’t forget.

Packed? Yeah, my days are packed. But, this being a family oriented site, I can’t tell you what they are currently packed with.

After the spanking that Calvin surely must have gotten yesterday morning after the soaking he gave his dad with the water hose as his dad was on his way to work . . . it’s a wonder his little bottom is able to SIT on that branch at all!!!!! ;-)

Good evening all. Calvin one day you will get Suzie and watch out. For the kids on this sight your not the only one takes classes us adults does to.

From my past comment, not sure your interested, here it is I did pass summer class of Keyboarding Begining Document Processing. Instructor’s test missed a few 82% the rest mostly 100%. I received a strong A 97.08%, I will not need Advanced Document Processing. . Now for fall Sociology, my daughter bougth a used book and kept her paper tests. From my past class I keep any test from on-line studies. I have been youtubing videos for learning, in preparation for that class. Also taking Comp II.

I will not bore you with my studies.

Oddly enough, I remember sitting in trees all day and being exhausted by dinnertime! Life is weird that way.

Fall class’s for KS start 8/15-17. Mine start 8/16 for two.

Guess you will be going back to school next month. Bummer man. Make sure you have all your pencils, pens, notebook paper,erasers PeeChee folders, etc…

As long as it’s summer, you don’t have to do anything! Just ENJOY IT! SUMMER IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!

Personally, I’d LOVE to go back to some of the summers of my youth. Regimentation? Tell me where you’re going, and be home in time for dinner (or lunch, as or if applicable). I had things expected of me, sure. But my parents always left me room to make my own choices, based on what they had taught me. My life didn’t become seriously regimented before the Army in 1966 and work after that. I’m sorry if you had a bad childhood. I just can’t relate to it in my own life or those of friends I grew up with.
