You knew it was coming

Apparently calvin, things do happen

That’s why I sleep so much too! (or at least that’s what I tell my wife!)

Why should calvin be surprised if Hobbes coming to life is just in his imagination? When I first ventured on to this strip many years ago, I believed that the tiger was a real tiger, known only to Calvin.

A good tiger pounce required a well rested beast.

You were saying, Calvin? Ask and ye shall receive. Love Hobbes’ sneak attack.

Hobbes could use Snoopy’s line: “I was asleep, but now I’m just resting my eyes.”

What is Hobbes doing there, why don’t we see it?

“Nothing ever happens around here.” Until Stuff Happens,then it’s Katy bar the door!!

Things happen when you least expect it. The thing that happens most though is you getting into trouble.

Oh for such an imagination! But wait! BILL has one!

Watterson liked to leave something to our imaginations. He would set it up for us, and let us have the fun of creating the result of the leap.The man knew art! Too bad he stopped doing the strip.

No, just too slow panning to keep up. It conveys the motion, and also keeps the gore off camera.

When being pulled over for speeding the comment is: no one was driving officer, we were all in the back seat….

@LX013: Usually I try to focus on “food for thought,” together with humor. That’s why I like Bill Watterson’s approach, and Charles Schulz’s.

@Vonne Anton: Well, there are some who consider my tiger identity to be a bit fishy. Nevertheless, tuna and salmon do happen to be two of my favorite foods.

Panel 3 is taking a Cue from Alfred Hitchc—k, (Take THAT Evil Nannybot!), who understood quite clearly that the Viewers Imagination was far more Vivid,Gruesome and all around Disturbing than ANY Image he could simulate on Film. The famous “Shower Scene” in PSYCHO is an excellent example of this Philosophy…. Incidently, Anthony Perkins wasn’t even on Set when that Scene was Filmed, but he Still gets the occasional piece of Hate mail for it…. :-)

Don’t threaten to turn him into a rug, either.

And yet another surprise heart attack for this particular little 6-year-old boy! I wonder how many that makes now?!?!? ;-)

While I enjoyed the Al Bowlly song “Midnight, The Stars And You”. . . (thank you!) that movie it was in, “The Shining”, scared the absolute hell out of me! It’s been many years since I first saw it and I’ve never been able to watch it again since then! Stephen King has one warped, twisted mind!!!!! ;-)
