Lucas has seen Mona cry before and in direct sunlight, it’s a good thing he didn’t say that out loud. There’s nothing like watching someone’s personal disintegration to make a meal very awkward. Also happy birthday JB.

“How can you hot make those ready to cook meals? Follow the directions. Now if Mona has trouble reading English I would understand.”

Being ABLE to read the directions and being WILLING to read the directions are two different things. Leaving the foil on where you’re supposed to take it off, taking it off where you should leave it on… Or it could be that her oven runs 25 degrees below the setting and Mona’s simply unaware of it because she rarely uses it (my oven runs 25 degrees hot, but everybody knows to compensate).

My sister once cooked a frozen pizza without taking it off the cardboard disk. It simply didn’t occur to her.

That’s right, Mona. You’re not good at anything!Lucas, you fool! This is your opportunity, her moment of vulnerability.Neither one of them is fit for the other, yet both are in need of the other. Life is a paradox, and sometimes it sucks….
