Let’s be honest here. Politics in Washington have sunk any coherent recovery strategy. Neither the Democratic or Republican approaches have actually been tried. The ball’s been allowed to fall between them.
The US is rapidly becoming ungovernable. If Romney is elected you an expect Democrats to take revenge for the last four years by blocking everything he tries.
The simple fact is the Republicans have been digging a trench for three DECADES, with a small period of minor cooperation under Clinton, while Newt undermined even that effort for the “long run”. So a Democratic administration, with no real support from a stagnant Congress, blocked by Republicans (yes, they DID block all measurable action) is responsible because everything wasn’t repaired, and the debt eliminated, in a WHOLE three years.
“How is digging the hole left by Bush coming along?”-—-Oh sweet little tigger, we are slowing filling it in, that’s how the hole is doing. Too bad the right-wing, tea party and republicans are still trying to dig it deeper.
