    So, by your reasoning, America has always been fascist. Move somewhere else if you think there’s a better place for LGBT. “Gay marriage” is an oxymoron, because it pretends that a man can take the place of a woman and vice versa. To sweep ALL believers in traditional marriage under the rug of enemies of equality is itself prejudicial and bigoted. Being gay is not immutable, like being black. And gays have the right to marry the opposite sex like the rest of us.

    Anyone.Come up with a non-religious reason for banning same sex marriages that wouldn’t also ban heterosexual marriages without children. “Ooh, it’s ICKY!” isn’t a reason.Neither is “If you allow that then you would also have to allow…” Recognition of a new type of Social Contract is not the same as decriminalizing an illegal activity.And, “Why do they have to call it ‘Marriage’?” is merely semantics until you realize that most of the states that have barred Gay Marriage also bar Civil Unions.

    Don’t equate the two. Pedophilia is an abuse of a child. A child does not, nor has the maturity for consent. No mutual consent = rape and abuse. It’s a pity you can’t see the difference.

    “Marriage” was established by states and religions to guarantee a man’s property rights to spouse(s) and children from the union, and of course property as well in most cultures. How many times does the bride retain “ownership” of her dowry, for example??

    The President has the Women vote, Latino, Black, Asian and the rest that comprise the liberal vote, and a whole new crop of young voters. And now of course the President is firmly on the side of the LGBT community.

    According to the CBS poll, conducted May 11-13

    46 percent of registered voters say they would vote for Romney, while 43 percent say they would opt for Mr. Obama. Romney’s slight advantage remains within the poll’s margin of error, which is plus or minus four percentage points.

    Romney took the lead among women voters, who supported the former Massachusetts governor 46 percent to Mr. Obama’s 44 percent, which is within the poll’s margin of error. In April, Mr. Obama had an edge among women voters, with 49 percent support to Romney’s 43 percent.

The strongest family unit is 1 man one women making children” Then I ask again, why are there no laws banning the infertile from getting married? They can’t make kids, so under your logic, they can’t get married. And why are there laws banning close relitives from marrying? A brother can get his sister pregnant, so by your thinking, they should get married and pop out all the web toed kids they want.

    The Declaration of Independence is not the law document which governs the country. The Constitution is; and it is a specifically secular document which outlines the rights of citizens. Equality in the Constitution is generally regarded as flowing from the Fourteenth Amendment.

    Perhaps, but not necessarily. That is one of the few arguments of that sort that makes sense.

    On the other hand, 2 working parents and a stay at home parent wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing either.

    Next time you want to challenge someone, please at least have the integrity and honor to know that of which you claim a knowledge of, and don’t disregard the half that doesn’t support your position. Sometimes it’s just too easy to point out the stupidity of a member’s comments.

    Perhaps in the future you will learn how to spell Republican. You might get a little more respect.

Call your religious ceremony anything you want, but stop equating it with the legal contract.

    I ask you this, then: If you have parents who are saying “no” to their children, are they thugs, or are they acting in the children’s best interests? And conversely, if parents are always saying “yes” to their children, are they also doing the best thing for their children? The reason I bring this up is right now, the Democratic party (notice my capitalization, as I respect the party itself, if not its members) is acting like the “yes” parents, handing candy to the kids and buying them the fancy motorized plastic jeep thingies that make all the kids go WOOO! And right now, the Republican party is saying “no” to that, and the child who is used to always getting “yes” is getting upset because they are accustomed to getting all the “fun” stuff. Unfortunately, what that child doesn’t see is that the parents were buying all that stuff on credit cards and re-mortgaging the house. At some point, you run out of credit. Of course the kids are going to throw a tantrum when “no” is the answer. How many times have we all seen it at the mall where the child throws themselves to the ground and throws an absolute fit for their parents having the audacity to say “no.” So who, then, is at fault? The parent who is saying “no,” or all parent who said “yes” up to that point?

There have been many studies over the years on the subject and the medical community is learning more every day. Society once expected blacks to accept their role as slaves. Society changed, just as it’s changing today whether you like it or not.

    Actually, the comparison you are using is not accurate. Maybe during the Cinton era it had some credibility. But today? no. Here’s another comparison you might understand. Let’s say a college education. That’s every individual’s responsibility to pay for that, not their parents’. But our society has shifted to think that the parents should have to mortgage their retirement to pay for college. I compare this to the current healthcare bill. It is not a right for you to obtain health insurance at the expense of someone else. You are supposed to be responsible for your own care. But as soon as government stepped in and started handing out healthcare to the “disadvantaged,” you saw an erosion of the system begin. As soon as someone doesn’t have to pay for it, people suddenly feel they are entitled to it. This is what we like to call “entitlement thinking.” It is not a right, nor do you “deserve it.” You have been given a gift. Just like if your parents elect to provide a college education to you. It is not the responsibility of your parents (who likely have worked their entire lives to save for their retirements… at least those who actually care about such things) to pay for your education. Here’s the most fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats: Democrats will say “Sure, you can have those Nike Air Jordan’s” and Republicans will say “No, you actually should get the New Balance running shoes, and if you want anything better, you kick in the rest.” See the difference?Republicans believe in providing the essentials, while Democrats believe in providing excesses. We aren’t advocating cutting people off at the knees. But we also know that you can’t keep spending like we are without eventually running out of money. And we also recognize you can’t steal enough money from the public who actually pay taxes to give it to those who don’t. Eventually you run out.Regarding deficit spending, I will say that I agree that deficit spending is not acceptable. The only time deficits should exist is during a time of National Emergency. But, we can’t get there by spending more! We have to spend less. We can’t tax our way out of this debt; there simply isn’t enough money in the system to do that.And Eryx, What makes you think it’s a Republican thing for NAMBL? We’re against gay marriage, why would we be for pedophelia?
