Holy crap. I just pulled up his Wiki page and realized he died May 29. So sad. Frick. The man was a genius, he understood the gross human condition and made it funny. Frick.
In defense of the diet soda with fatty foods, once I started drinking diet coke regular soda tasted too sweet so even with a desert I’d drink a diet soda.
Diet pop does make sense, even with the burger and fries – a can of pop is usually 320 or so calories, all sugar, and most restaurant servings are bigger than a can. That said, I have a Coke Zero, and switch the fries for a salad when it’s an option – that ditches 700+ fatty calories. And taken together, make a fast-food burger meal a lot healthier and less fattening.
This reminds me of the episode of " Friends" where they are watching an old home movie of Monica and Rachel going to the prom and someone comments on Monica’s weight which leads to this exchange:
She needs to get herself off up that chair and exercise. Did you know a 6 oz. glass or can of tomato juice or V8 acts as an appetite suppresant? Drink it an hour before meal times.

I bought a can of coke zero at the 7-11 one time…..but….there was NO coke IN the CAN !!!!! ( coke zero…get it? ) No??
