Even Jimmy Carter would have given the go-ahead for Navy Seal Team 6.

RIR: I suggest staying away from the name changes; they don’t further your cause. However, I do agree on the point that Americans are happy that OBL is dead, but that’s not on the front burner right now. Politicizing this event is nothing more than a distraction from the real issues in this country: Jobs/Economy, the debt, and government spending. Everything else pales in comparison, and that’s what this election should be about. While I am sure some of the liberals on this board disagree with me on the specific solutions to those three items, I’m quite certain we can all agree that those should be the focus.

How about that – a politician taking credit for an extremely high risk decision that paid off in spades despite high level opposition; Including reactivating the hunt after Bush had downgraded the mission; and taking hands-on participation in planning such as adding back-up helicopter cover. Well done Mr. President!

The only people telling Obama to keep quiet are the republicans who are still fuming because bush refused to get bin laden. But lets just say that junior spent five minutes off the ranch and ordered the men in tora bora to kill osama when he had the chance. Fox “news” would have personally chiseled bushs ugly mug on Mount Rushmore, and bush/dick would have run the ‘04 election on “we caught bin laden” rather then dick comming out and saying "if Kerry wins, we’ll be hit again".And why should Obama have waited a week? He had killed the most wanted human being on earth. Stop eating those sour grapes and let it go

From the very beginning, Obama gave all the credit to the SEAL teams. Unlike “Mr. Sock in his jock” who grandstanded in on a mission that wasn’t even CLOSE to “accomplished”.

It has been the “anti-Obama” press and “media” who’ve tried to make him the one grandstanding. He only gave our military “permission” to proceed with the mission. Bush and Cheney were like school yard bullies, using our military to make THEM look “brave”, from inside their bunkers.

As for the political moves today, well, why is Romney shmoozing with Guliani and firefighters today in N.Y., as if HE had any accomplishments?

Ramirez is the one still hung up on his pacifier.

I guess you’re the only one who actually bothers to see through the red haze to read my comments. Ugh.Your tag on the LO is right on the money. It doesn’t matter who the POTUS is, the LO is going to hound them incessantly. I do think you are right that he had to have the courage to essentially invade a sovereign nation, and the potential backlash. But, I also think he should have waited to tell the world so any actionable intelligence we gathered from that event could have actually been used. But hind-sight is 20/20.I just think people who are focused on this OBL issue instead of the real issues are letting themselves by distracted by an illusionist. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!” C’mon folks (Even you, Ramirez), let’s focus on the real issues and leave this kind of non-issue drop. I’m pretty certain every POTUS would have made the call Obama did. Put it to rest already.

Could it be? A hat trick of stupid comments? If it were anyone else, it would be impressive.Lets start with Clinton. You are aware 9/11 didn’t happen untill Clinton left office, right? But hey, since we’re randomly tossing blame around, how about we blame reagan? I mean, it was st ronnie who proped up “freedom fighters” (his words, not mine) like OBL because they were fighting communists. Or how about bushie jr, who ignored cia warnings that bin laden was planing an attack, because that would require him to get off his pony farm. And there was a good reason we didn’t rely on waterboarding. The US waterboarded khalid shiek mohummad over 180 times, and all we got was useless or false info. Even john mccain knew that. Torture does not work. Fact. And yes, Kerry would have kept us safe. You see unlike dick and bush, he had some actuall military experiance. And, shocking, he was against the vietnam war. Alot of people were, including the soilders. But hey, look how safe America was under the former chickenhawk in chief. And I thought I already st you straight about the “Three AM Call”. You need to learn the differance between fear mongering, and talking about an actuall accomplishment.

Such little respect for the truth.

    GW Bush was a diaster.

Obama is trying to fix his mess with no help from the Republican party.

There is a very good chance there was only knowledge of this after the fact for Obama. Plausible deniabliity is very important for something like this. Its my personal opinion that is how it went down. He was let in after the mission was committed. Its good he is gone and Obama was President when it happened. But we need to focus on the economy, the debt and what is left of our country and not grandstand an event that Mother Teresa would of approved of.

Quote from the article I posted:“CIA Director Leon Panetta told the Arizona senator that Khalid Sheik Mohammed, who was waterboarded 183 times, did not provide the information that eventually led to bin Laden.”

The first bombing took place on 2/23/93. Just over a month after Clinton took office. So by your logic, The bombing is the fault of bush sr. Clinton needed more then a month to clean up the mess left by bush. You know what did happen though? We caught the guys who were responsible for the bombing. Clinton didn’t call off the squads hunting the terrorists down. And it didn’t take a bloody decade.“um it has now been confirmed that that is the guy who sang and got us the information to start down the chain that got Bin!”Got a source for that, because I’ve read article after article that says diffrently. Remember, KSM was waterboarded over 180 times. You have to figure after about 30 times, he would have figgured out a system so it was no longer torture, but a mild inconvinence.http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/05/12/mccain-torture-did-not-lead-to-bin-laden/You know what would have made Kerry a better choice? Its because he saw action. All the “swiftboating” in the world isn’t going to change the fact that he was in nam, and the chickenhawks dick and bush were not. Maybe if those two did serve, they would have had a greater appreciation for our soilders, insted of looking at them as tools. Maybe we never would have gone into iraq. Maybe afgahnistan would have gone better. But sadly, that never happened. And I’m not sure what "keeping her around on the side of the USA " means, but Im glad you like her. That means you won’t be all that sad when she become president in 2016.
