I’m surprised he showed up at all; he should have done it via a video webinar. From Saipan.

Re: Timmy’s T-shirt, if he learns Spanish he can talk with his co-workers, but if he want’s to talk with his boss he’d better learn Chinese!Did anyone notice that a Chinese company just bought AMC movie theaters?

Morning Crustwood! It’s waaay past my bedtime….but I wanted to say I love the clash between Joy’s T-shirt and Timmy’s.A head-on collision in the making…..or it would be if Joy understood her shirt, which I’m sure she doesn’t.She only bought it cos it was pink and had a heart on it.And Dale actually got off a zinger.Big day in Crustwood.

Wow, I don’t know what’s going on here, but in the last few weeks there have been sever DS in which the character(s) said something that was actually of some intelligence (or maybe not quite as ignorant).

Seeing a lot of this going around me and even being personally affected by it, I am identifying more than I like with today’s comic. That is Dale’s sarcastic comment and both Timmy and Burl’s shirt. Perhaps Julie was making a political statement today? I may print this one out and hang in on my wall at work, which is getting outsourced at the end of this month.

@TinnyGirl I answered you late in yesterday’s comments.

@Dazz I am not sure how old Phoebe is. I actually got him from a classified ad on our website at work. The man had bought him for his 15 year old son who begged for a bird, and then ignored him.He was giving him away. I was glad to have him and he was glad to be rid of him. Don’t get me wrong, they took good care of him, he just didn’t want the hassle. I mostly took him because my wife likes birds. I was, to be honest, a bit indifferent about him. Now he is MY bird. I came to enjoy him more than expected. He adopted me and sort of tolerates my wife.

Wow! Julie sneaks in some biting social commentary BEYOND her normally amazing humor at the foibles of suburbia! It is sadly an unfortunate truism that too many jobs are being outsourced so that people who simply want a JOB to make a living have a harder time of it. Bravo, Julie!

Well some of us out here believe that Lou speaks a lot of truth, and yes I know it is not Obuma’s fault that the jobs are being sent over sea’s it’s Bush’s fault Obuma’ is alot like Willy Lie so much and they believe it themselves LMFAO but it is really sad the way our country is going down the drain.

I’m really surprised that Joy knows who Lou Dobbs is. Maybe there is hope for her yet. Or else Susan is right, and Joy just liked the color! :-D

Good morning all. I’ve been over chatting at the Ithica site. Today’s DS is a sad commentary. I’m glad that for me it came at a time when I expected to be retiring anyway, and at least I own the house (taxes keep increasing on it tho’). I agree with Susan on Joy’s shirt, and Dave- most birds prefer one sex over the other. Cuddles knew that I was her mom (and would search me for shelter, but was an outrageous flirt with men (especially if they were young and attractive) but would not tolerate any disparaging remarks. A man could always get her attention by commenting on how pretty or smart she was (and she understood a lot). Once she took a nip of one who was silly enough to say “if you poop on me, I’ll kill you”). Not only was she toilet trained but considered that a threat and assault. In the vid I put of her on UTube she says “I have to practice” (after I told her to talk nicely to the camera) and goes on to say “I want to talk” with a laugh- she was quite a character! Fitzroy is probably tired of being compared to her and seeing all the art work around the house done of her, but he is a cute little guy (still not well toilet trained) and has learned that one useful phrase. He will be visiting his future room mates in July (I have willed him to my youngest son who has two eclectus parrots – his size).

Ithica is a live bird cam (available in HD and sometimes zoom) and has nothing to do with DS (just my fav site for the last month or so since the laying of the 3 eggs). The 3 babies are growing out their feathers and starting to learn to feed themselves. All the camera manipulation during some hours of the day has me neglecting almost everything else. My avatar for a while used the baby Red Tail Hawks at Cornell U’s Orithology Lab.. Dave, birds are toilet trained the same as children (the bigger the brain the better) and I had little problem with Cuddles Cockatoo; My Timneh African Grey has not learned as well, or maybe I have less patience. I have a friend in Brooklyn with 2 tiels- should ask her what sucess she has had.
