Actually, this is a carefully concocted plan to make them want to do better in school, and someday go to college.Today they visit the high school drop-out in his work environment… Tomorrow, in arithmetic class, they calculate a month’s take-home pay at minimum wage, and subtract a month’s worth of bills. No, wait…. they haven’t learned yet about negative numbers.

Wallaby, a few inches from your comment there’s a blurb titled “About Agnes.”

It says “just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills….”

    So I’d guess 10-ish?

He looks like one of Robert Florence’s characters on “Burnistoun”. Love this!

Calvin is six. I don’t recall ever seeing a specific age for Agnes.

I think some strip referred to 4th grade – that would be 9 or 10 yrs.

Excellent question Agnes. Don’t forget to ask about his hair. .I recall my mom being horrified when at 6, I asked the receptionist of my dentist… How did she get her hair like that? She had the tallest beehive I had ever seen. Think Yeoman Rand on Star Trek. (the blond)
