I once read a story about a guy stranded alone on a island. So the guy invented a girl-friend. She was nice and everything was pretty good. But after some time she becames annoying and he had to kill her. After he was rescued he confessed the murder and was hanged.

I wouldn’t think it’s the end of the comic. All but the first panel appear to be Tom’s dream.
