I would like a little more snow and a little less sun and balmy weather, personally. Reading the comics is the closest I’ve gotten to snow this ‘winter’. _ They look cute in their bathing suits though. :)

In the interest of being obnoxious, I offer the following:

The equator is not much closer to the sun than any other part of earth’s surface. Just a handful of miles is nothing compared to the 93 million miles to the sun. The reason it’s warmer there is that the sun’s rays fall much more directly on the equator. They just barely graze the poles, which is why they’re so cold.

Do you know that the Equator is so long that if placed end to end it would be long enough to go all the way around the earth.

30°C is 86°FFor those who might need to know that.

I can imagine the reverse of this comic strip — two people sweating and exhausted under the heat, then a sudden flash of them frisking in the snow.

I’d take sunny and 30 (86) over Texas any day! Last summer we had over 60 days in a row that topped 38 (100) degrees. Add in the drought and pollution… I agree with wanting more of the winter, or any winter at all!

I agree I hate to see winter go… I live in a subtropical desert, so can always count on getting fried every summer. Although I do at least appreciate that we still have more season changes than the equator.

Zero-Gabriel: People have lived in that warm (not hot) climate for millennia without any problem. Just don’t try dressing for the spring of your colonizers. You don’t even have to take it all off (but may if not offensive).

I picked Phoenix for my senior years just because we can have flowers year round and no extreme catastrophic weather.Rose and Jimbo have such fun with their alter egos; I always enjoy them.
