Krugman’s comments are valid, and please, buy a computer or TV in the U.S. NOT made or “assembled” in China! All we have to do is re-invest IN THE U.S. for things to turn around, wanna buy steel, copper wire, aluminum, nuts, bolts, anything we USED to make here? Oops, it’s about the futures market and stock market, and profit over “real” production.

Really should be Foxconn pictured, supplier of labor to build electronic things for many American companies, such as HP. The NY Times singled out Apple because Apple is the most successful and the easiest to attack. Plus, it attracts fanboi attention, and the attention of the “I told you so crowd.”

^If you think the removal of “industrial regulations” has been damaging, check out what “Doc” Hastings and the House Natural Resourced Committee is trying to do to DESTROY all our natural resources! That includes the removal of ALL environmental LAWS ever passed with H.R. 1505, first within 100 miles of the border, but their real intent is to eliminate ALL laws AND regulations that protect our health, welfare, and future, for quick profits now, for their friends.

As to “importing everything”, if they have their way, that will include air and water, so “buckle up”!

They can start by making “Made in …” more obvious on the packaging. It shouldn’t take 2 minutes to figure out if that roll of plastic wrap is American made or not.

There was a really good article in the NYT on the how the supply chain for electronics is mostly in Asia and it just makes more sense for companies like Apple to have their manufacturing plants close to the supply chain. As far the way they treat workers in the PRC… well they’re probably not going to do a whole lot about that.
