Dr. King was a great man, but there were lots of others — in reference to this cartoon, honor to the Freedom Riders, led by James Farmer. I knew some of the Riders — they were true heroes.
There are no “great men,” only men who do great things. Rev. King was a leader of men and women who collectivly struggled for equal rights for ALL. With out them we may not have had the other equal rights movements and the lives of so many Americans would not be what it is today. To all of those so many years ago who took a stand against discrimination in its many forms: You are the true patriots. Thank you!
