Respected American intellects need at least as much weight in such matters as respected British intellects, Bucky. You authenticated them. You’re a respected American intellect. You don’t need any foreigner to say, “Oh, these American artifacts are old.” You can do that yourself. What’s with this sudden burst of humility?

The fact I laughed (yes—-out loud) at Bucky’s retort, pretty much sums up my 2011.

My dear mother’s favorite expression: “Why don’t you just go pound sand!”

He must be right. Got the accent and everything!

I don’t think that’s humility (from Bucky??). It seems to be more an arrogant display of cultural superiority. Mahsterpiece Theatre, anyone? But I’m glad to see M.M.M. again. Manchester City seems to be doing well.
