The heads better roll. Talk about a kick in the nuts.

I just wonder who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? How could you possibly justify such a decision, even to yourself? And this had to go through more than one person.

navy hospital policy is pieces/parts/flesh etc are cremated, and interred anonomously in a veterans cemetary, at the next available funeral and placed beneath the casket being interred. full respect is maintained, in the u.s. navy!

On first report, assumed what Mhic and dfowensby alluded to was what was really happening. Having dealt with body parts after ‘Nam, and also in SAR activities that became “recoveries” as best as possible, the remains should have been treated with the respect of interment in at least a mass burial plot, not a garbage landfill. While I don’t have the hangup many do about “remains” being so important as to risk lives to recover them (been asked), Dover senior staff should have done a much better job, which I thought was SOP for a long time.

^These screwups at Dover were going on for a decade. The “brass” at Dover were solely responsible for letting it happen. Neither “W” (sitting at the right had of Cheney) nor President Obama are responsible. It isn’t the same as ordering your right hand man “Scooter” to commit treason.

The policy of dumping body parts occurred from 2004 to 2008. Who was president then?
