Nice job, Jan. Also, nothing like a real wood fire. Love ’em.

I am glad they are having an early Christmas, so Phil can participate. As a fellow Badger, ie, one who wears a badge, I know that three of the worst days of his calendar are coming up, this weekends two day domestic dispute festival, and then the following Saturday is Amateur Night, when the amateur drunks will be out in force. Be careful, Phil.

Unless that is a log for the fire he is handing Val, not a present.

I’ve seen pink trees and white trees instead of green, but a grey tree? nah :þ

I believe that yesterday’s strip explained it well, Hanukkah started last night at sundown, today is Yule (thus the log as in Yule log). Many people forget (Christians) that there are other holidays around this time of year.

I hope the fireplace is keeping them nice and warm. What a comfy setting. Where is Holly.

I notice that Holly is missing. Is that the reason everyone’s so happy for a change? LOL SCOTTthe BADGER: Same goes for “hose jockeys”. I know. Spent many a Christmas eve on the end of a hose with ice hanging off the turnout gear. (now retired)

Best guess for Christmas, based on astronomical data, is mid-August, 5 BC. Ironically, that’s when the Church celebrates Mary’s Assumption into Heaven.

I just hope the birds’ beaks don’t get stuck to that block of ice they are eating from
