Latjkis (or for people who don’t know ….. potato pancakes) are also part of our traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner or Wigilia (pronounced ve-lee-ya)
They are a very simple dish to fix (depending on how you want to season them) and in this day and age, recipes are so easy to find (and chose specifics- such as sweet potato latkas) that I hardly ever refer to all my cookbooks any more (other than some of the old favs that the family want and I have marked up with all my adaptations in the margins.

Joan knows how to make latkas? (given that Val had once stated that Joan’s cooking was about 95% Kraft Dinner)

I like them, too. Bring some home for the dog. If I don’t get there first!

Once for one of my sisters’ Christmas class parties, they did Hanukkah games and I was in charge of the game with the top, which was fun.

Wally is making the latkes—and maybe they’ll bring home some for Biscuit, if she’s a good pup!
