I was expecting more than “just a quick timeout” from Gil. Can we have a full one-panel greeting next year? Otherwise, I’m switching over to Mary Worth.

That ref Kenny Rogers is a bit quick on the whistle – I guess the ‘Larks don’t know when to hold ‘em. No Mimi this Christmas makes kdizzle a sad boy. Feed the ball to Ralphie he’ll shoot their eyes out.

Happy Christmas to all from Australia. I haven’t go a clue what all this sport is about; but I’m captivated by this crazy comic. The comments from the Gil fans are hilarious.

Just a quick timeout??? For goodness sakes, Gil, keep your head in the game. Vo-Tech is on a run. On the other hand, Gil is looking great at Christmas time and I gotta think the drunk moms, hot counselors, and fine office staff have something to do with that extra twinkle in the old Gil smile.

Not only did the ref forget his whistle, but he also doesn’t seem to know that a foul is signified by a closed fist. The open hand is for infractions such as traveling, out of bounds, or to signal to stop the clock for timeouts.

Body part alert. In P2 poor DeVore is missing the end of his thumb, and Gil has two small legs growing out of his chin. And in P3 why are all those fans taking flash photos of Gil’s back in the suddenly darkened gym? The ref’s day job is traffic cop.

Happy Holidays to all you wiseacres who add so much with your comments, and of course, to Neal and Rod, for keeping Gil going.

A quick timeout? I miss the Christmas tree, fireplace, kids, and little Barfy. Oh well, instead of griping I should be counting my blessings, I guess … thanks Neil and Rod for giving us this Thorpiverse to analyze each day. And a North Carolina Tar Heel Merry Christmas to all Thorpaholics!

That was nice of Gil to use one of his precious timeouts to stop the game and wish us a Merry Christmas. I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt him at the end of the game.

I’ve been reading Gil since 1960. How come I don’t look as good as Gil does? Gil and Marty must get a package deal for Christmas each year. Merry Christmas to all the Gil googans.
