Now, let’s be honest, Lila, she probably wants hair.

She was dying of cancer. I think she know that she can’t always get what you want. She was also an orphan. Any positive attitude at all is amazing.

Paul; the operative word is “was.” She got what she wanted then.

She also lost at least one of her friends to cancer, so she already knows she can’t always get what she wants.

An education isn’t the problem. The problem would be taking it for granted. Denying her the opportunity just to teach her she can’t have everything would be like being rude to her to teach her that she’ll encounter rudeness in the world.

Oh, that’s rich. And a good question. Does a girl need more empowerment when she’s already a hacker and a bookie?

Yay! Another reason for me to hate Lila and her stupidity. :)

Lila shouldn’t let her go just to show Annie’s teacher that he can’t go behind her back again.

I think this has less to do with the school and more to do with Lila not wanting to lose Annie now that she is a big part of Lila’s life.

Dr. Fine’s expression in the last panel translates very clearly to “Alan… dude… no.”

@sassy1 — are you seriously sticking up for a cartoon character? I am perfectly capable of hating Lila as a character and also being entertained by the comic strip. As I said once before, just because I have no desire to know anyone like Lila in real life doesn’t mean I’m not entertained by her. I don’t particularly like Lucy Van Pelt, either.

Really, why should she learn that? Once done, it becomes a self-fulling prophecy. Better to learn you get everything you set your heart and mind to.

Let her go, she can come home during breaks and Lila could Skype with her every day if they want to! Plus maybe Lila can go visit Annie – Lila and Annie in Europe has a lot of comedy potential! It’s an opportunity of a lifetime. Plus Annie can come back after a short term, even that would be a wonderful opportunity. I love Lila and Annie (this whole strip is so great)!
