II submitted about the pizza topped casserole yesterday. Yes you can add seasonings to the sauce. Add bay leaves, garlic powder, Itallian seasoning, and whatever else you choose. And for something really Italian for the topping, add sausage, black olives, or even anchovies.
Val seems to have turned into Gromit when her mouth disappeared. By the way, good ways of planning are using different origin countries for food.Monday-MexicanTuesday-FrenchWednesday-ChineseThursday-ItalianFriday-American
Kids all need to learn how to cook by that age- especially with all the TV and internet sources we now have. I just WISH I had had so many at that age, but learned by doing. My two worst were an excessively spicy pork roast and an almond cake where I overdid the flavoring. As an ambitious teenage cook, I did well.
Irony is that Joan seemed to have figured it out (albeit it was actually Max who figured it for her—by constantly demanding Kraft Dinner), and Val can’t.

At 13, apparently Holly hasn’t reached the Teenage Appetite yet, where she’ll eat Anything and Everything!

How to handle Holly… you don’t cook, you don’t go shopping at the mall.
