Alix: I think moms should NEVER want to do things without their kids. Holly: Really, Alix? Holly: I'M a self-centered 13-year-old, and even I know that's ridiculous. Our mom is a PERSON. She needs her own friends and adult life. Gramma Evie: Well, aren't WE mature all of a sudden. Holly: I have my brief moments.

I like Holly admitting that she’s a “self-centered 13-year old”. Now THAT’S mature… as long as she continues to try and do something about it.

Mothers need time alone. Still, I detest the stereotypical way Holly is written.

@Derkins… um, apparently you’ve forgotten just how stereotypical that age really is! Exceptions are rare; 13 year old girls are incredibly self-centered, but they have flashes of insight… Trust me, I was one of them! LOL

My only daughter is still self-centered and about to be married for the 3rd time with no consideration for familly about the location. I think I like the new beau, but still have not decided on attending.
