Take in enough revenue every month to pay off the cards every month, and they can be handy, especially when traveling. Quitting your job to reduce revenue, and keep spending- is stupid and the “new conservative” as coined by Reagan.
This is nothing new. George W. Bush raised the debt cieling several times, to pay for the wars of opportunity in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were never part of the real “budget” and so we never realized how much we were going in the hole to pay for them. Now, Obama puts these wars into the real budget requests and it looks like we’re suddently spending way too much money.. but it’s nothing new.
