Nonsense on the cartoon and on you, tower. Obama’s agreeing to massive cuts and the GOP won’t even agree to closing LOOPHOLES. It’s already been said by Mitch McConnell that the debt limit will be raised — they can’t risk the US going into default, and you can find what Ronald Reagan said about that. (Besides, the Congress did it seven times for Bush!) This is all just theater. Obama’s calling the GOP’s bluff.

President Obama is a whole lot smarter than his predecessor.

Someone’s been watching Fox News. “Their deficit.” Cute.Regardless of spending cuts there is no paying off THE DEFICIT (incurred by BOTH parties) without increasing revenue.Only an idiot tries to pay off credit card debt while accruing interest without paying more than the minimum, even if they stop compounding more debt.

The only “loophole” Boehner and the Republicans are wiling to tighten is the one around the EPA’s neck so their friends can do MORE damage unrestrained on their way to MORE untaxed profits. Democrats have offered many “reductions” as well as only “moderate” at most, tax “increases” or elimination of a few tax exemptions. The fact is, Republicans started campaigning in earnest even BEFORE January 20, 2009, and everything they’re doing is campaigning, NOT GOVERNING- in which they have no real interest, unless “governing” is giving more to their contributors.

I see the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, section 4. Oh – I also see massive Big Bank and corporate profits, rising wealth gap.

Federal employee salaries have already been frozen, while the CEOs average salaries went up 23% in the same year, and their “taxes” remained lower than the rate paid by those federal employees- yep, Republicans have really stepped up to the plate- demanding more caviar for their “impoverished” friends.
