^Okay: 1. Close loopholes, which even the GOP shouldn’t object to (but has)2. Raise some taxes on a very small percentage of very rich people3. Have a bunch of spending cuts as well.

Great comic…just thinking this AM about “how” a historic break room discussion must have went with JK. "You know, Madge, " JK hesitantly quibs, “…I’ve been thinking about writing a book.”-Steve http://about.me/booksatthebeach

He’s giving them part of social security and medicare and they STILL won’t agree to the cuts. BTW Obama gave the middle class the biggest tax cut in history so how is he taxing you?

MM cites three of numerous offers. The Republicans are just trying to weasel in removing what few remaining regulations protecting our air, land, and water from corporations willing to bring on “environmental Armageddon” for their personal profit. This is a very, VERY dangerous game indeed.

Yes, he had agreed to spending cuts. I believe it was about 3/4 spending cuts to 1/4 increased tax revenue. And while the may choose to tax and spend, the Republicans show their affinity time and time again for BORROW and spend.

Vortex, you need to read the news. Obama has proposed more spending cuts than the Repubs were asking for. But we also need to close tax loopholes. It was hilarious seeing how the R’s surrendered everything rather than accept facts.

HOWIE, that’s the GOP stance, not Obama’s. Pay attention. Or haven’t you noticed that the left is mad at Obama for giving in too often?
