IMHO, for this to be more accurate Harry needs to look a lot more ticked off (and bigger) for Order of the Phoenix…

Question:Which of the following is more offensive? A book about fake magical beings making no claims to be based on reality, or a book about magical beings that insists it’s based on reality?*Answer:We’ll see in a couple thousand years how many people get killed over the teachings of Dumbledore.

Charlie, unlike Canuck, I’m not gonna attack your beliefs cause that’s a cheap shot and it’s using pretention to get rid of anther pretention, but it’s FICTION, as in a story that’s NOT real and DOESN’T PRETEND to be real! It’s as old a legends and Greek poetry and strangely enough, it’s one of the little things that makes the real World worth living.

I wonder what you think about Sooky/Cerberus!

I do find it interesting that the message of love, caring for others, and defeating “evil” is clearer, and has better “heros”, than those horrible myths about sociopathic “heros” destroying whole civilizations (it’s called genocide now) so they can take over as “the chosen people” of a mythical being created in THEIR image.

lowCbass: read the books. They’re worth it. I agree with dtroutma: the books have a profound moral grounding, which even charlie should be good with, as they are all pretty Christian: 1. We all deserve respect as individuals, and those pretending to be “superior” are not (it’s very anti-nobility!); in other words: all are equal in the eyes of the Lord 2. Caring about others is the source of all true morality 3. Following your principles matters, and distinguishes true leaders and good people 4. There are things worse than death; and 5. There is no better man than one who lays down his life for his friends charlie, don’t mistake the frosting for the cake. These are books about children becoming mature, moral adults. And Rowling, brave writer that she is, does not flinch from showing that this is a painful process, and that not everyone is likable while maturing.
