It’s great that Phil is encouraging Alix. People, including kids, need to have things in their lives they are passionate about.

    ^Psst, that’s Wally not Phil. ;) And I agree – he’s a wonderful uncle.

You in the country, camping, who wouldn’t want to collect bugs and stuff? Thankfully I grew up in the country and was an avid scientist who liked to dissect things and study them. Now I also like to dissect electronic things that don’t work anymore too.

go collect cr cr’s as much as you want, but don’t bring them near me! usually I don’t like the way Holly thinks, but on this occasion…well… butterflies are ok, and when i was small, we had the Year of The Caterpillar – so many that they used to fall out of the trees down your neck as you walked down the street – such beautiful colours and patterns. And dragonflies are magical. The names in French are not fly de beurre and fly de dragon, but papillon and libellule – the word libellule is almost as beautiful as the insect itself. Anyone know the Spanish words for these 2 cr cr’s?

but I forgot to mention, it’s better not to collect them, but just to look at them and leave them alone. unless you know what you’re doing, they will probably die.

This is why I love Wally! He’s being such a great father figure for Alix.
