Cousin’s niece?! Might as well say “Cousin’s daughter,” since her parent is also a cousin. She would be Baldo’s 2nd cousin. (I must peek at the espanol version)

Not necessarily. My father’s sister’s son is my cousin, but my father’s sister’s son is married, and his wife has a sister, and that sister has a daughter. My cousin is the girl’s uncle, but my cousin’s sister-in-law is not a cousin to me. So “my cousin’s niece” is, it seems to me, the best description of my relationship to the girl.

Sounds like my husband’s family. His momma had 60 grandchildren, some of them OLDER than my husband.

If it’s your cousin’s niece it means it’s the child of a sibling of your cousin, which would most commonly also be your cousin, which means the person getting married is just a more distant cousin.
