mtt - That’s my point. He claims to be a born-again evangelical Christian – who favors capital punishment, war, and so forth. For the record, a true “Pro-life” stand isn’t limited to abortion.
Bush is a Methodist - as if that matters to you Christophobes - what really bothers you is that everybody else doesn’t follow you into your agnostic dead-end. I’m Pro-Life and pro-capital punishment , if administered by a competent and fair legal system; which I’m not sure we have anymore. Here again you, the irreligious judge how the religious ought to behave - that makes you one of us. :D
I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed this OldLego. Humph, I’ll close one side by favoring a moratorium on capital punishment for all but the most heinous crimes until we known for sure the system can be trusted. Is that better?
hump, yes he did especially heavy on the 2nd term. I was hoping he was truthful, but he does not appear to be doing the Christian thing on global warming, amnesty and the bogus bailout. As well he kicked several Jews out of Israel, this is not being a Christian at all. As well he is just not listening to the voice of the people.
NFP I will agree with you on your Capital Punishment stand.
NFP - I’m a Catholic, neither a “Christophobe” nor an agnostic. Right to Life, Inc., one of the largest pro-life organizations, is against abortion, euthanasia, and capital punishment. So is the Catholic Church (The Pope also gave Bush a dressing down for the Iraq war. Good man!). Consistency? If all life is sacred, should it matter if it is pre- or post-birth? Not to me. Look to your own morals.
Since this is a political cartoon blog, I strongly recommend checking out the late, great Doug Marlette’s cartoons – raised a Baptist in North Carolina, he used to enrage pro-death penalty people by doing cartoons on Good Friday showing, for example, Christ carrying an electric chair up Calvary. He also knew his Bible better than most of the televangelists he liked to stomp upon (e.g., Jim & Tammy Bakker).

What should be thrown at him is the “book”.

That, too. A “Christian” who starts a war for geopolitical and corporate advantage ain’t exactly a good example in the Sermon on the Mount.

mm Bush is not a Christian, if this is what your getting at.

mtt, I’ll agree but W’s ran two campaigns professing such and appealing to the religious right.

NoFear, your decision is not mine to make. Look within yourself.
