Gramma: Oh dear, my friend Alice died. Val: Tom and nancy's Mom? Gramma: She was amazing. I met her when all you kids were in elementary school. She was gorgeous, with a wicked sense of humor. She raised her own three kids, plus four or five foster children. She was a terrific fund-raiser... she helped found the relief nursery. And just last year she lobbied the city to include more park space in developments. Val: What does her obit say? Gramma: Let's see... "she was a homemaker."
