If only the administration of the most powerful free nation in the world was as easy as making a hollywood movie, the Libs would be good at it!!! They are good at make-believe, though.

He was the power, the brains, and the ambition behind the throne. Bush was a figurehead, Cheney was his puppet master.

Cheney got miffed when Bush finally did something he didn’t approve of - not pardoning Scooter. Now it’s going in his memoir. He’s gonna punish that little punk for gettin’ outta line…

Are you calling Cheney a big boob?

Now, THAT I can agree with.

So… Cheney’s, like… seriously blowing it, then by opening his mouth.

Better to remain silent and have people assume you’re a villain, than open your mouth and remove all doubt… to adapt a proverb.

“When a stupid man comes into company he’d better be silent; no one will notice that he knows nothing unless he talks a lot.” – Hávamál sometimes known as “Songs of the High One [Odin]” Translated by Patricia Ann Terry.

Since, as motivemagnus has noted, the Hávamál seems to be spot on at describing figures like Richard Bruce Cheney, I can’t help recalling the most often-cited strophe :

Beasts die, Kinsmen die, You, too, will die.

One thing I know that never dies, A dead man’s repute.

(my translation from a Swedish translation)

One can only hope that what will remain of Mr Cheney and his deeds will not be taken as a source of inspiration by future generations (torturers excepted)….

    Henri
