CarlosinDetroit that line from Star Wars always bothered me - a parsec is a measure of distance, not time. It’s like saying “I can make it to Boston in less than a 100 miles” It would make sense if he was boasting about knowing shortcuts, but not when he was boasting about the speed of his ship…

Gimmickgenius: I love your Foghorn Leghorn comment. That would be something Louie would definitely use.

Frog - The line was deliberate, it was supposed to show that Han didn’t know what he was talking about.

good afternoon crew and good luck allan as for louie, i don’t think even zzzzzzzooooooooom would be fast enough to show his squirrel chasing speed.

Actually, making the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs IS a way to state the Millennium Falcon’s speed, because it means that you’re shoving your vessel through the Maw right up the middle - past black holes and other gravitational anomalies that’d rip your ship apart if you’re not fast enough, and which practically every other pilot avoids.

Of course, if you’ve read the books, you know that he can only say that because his meters broke while pulling off some insane maneuvers, but…

Back to the topic on hand - you’d think Louie would shed less fur, what wit taking so many walks in the rain…

Nick FYI - Labs NEVER stop shedding. If you saw the amount of fur in my house, you’d swear I have a bald dog.

Louie, get that squirrel! Then befriend it and make it part of the crew.

Let us just say Louie was going 2/3’s Impulse speed. Depending on his distance he can go up to Warp 4 on the Cochran Warp Speed Scale.

I know I’m coming in very late on this, but on STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS “parsecs” are used to describe the length of the shortcut in hyperspace (the number of parsecs in normal space is much greater). Apparently the more efficient or “faster” the hyperdrive, the shorter the cut it can make…which says something about the hypothetical physics of the whole scenario…

Uh, I’ll think I’ll stick with the scenarios right in this strip. :)
