Don’t tell me their mom’s like Andy Fox: Too stingy to turn up the thermostat.

Yeah, there too cheap.

Its climate change, Thank God we have a reason now for why it is not always sunny and 79 degrees.
Otherwise we would need to invent a science to explain Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall. We would need to invent the sun as the sole source of heat in the solar system and understand the earth’s tilt. Thank goodness we have “Climate Change” that can blame this Global Warming cold on cow farts.
I have saved or created 13,207 jobs with this post.

LOL Ajax4Hire. I get the impression you realize global warming is a hoax and I agree.

Wow, take it easy, Ajax4Hire. We get what you believe. Now move on, and maybe have a laugh today instead of being so grumpy.

Does it really matter whether or not global warming is real? Isn’t it nice for us to not pollute the environment either way?

I’ve had the urge to walk around all day wrapped in a blanket, especially when its one of those bitterly cold and windy days. When it’s a winter weekend I often do, unfortunately I haven’t yet figured out how to do so at work without getting yelled at.

Hey, guess what! winter comes every year! Take out last winter’s coats, hats, scarves, boots, gloves/mittens, extra layers of heavy sweaters, PUT THEM ON, AS NEEDED, and quit complaining!
You don’t even need to turn up the thermostat if you don’t want to, altho you must keep the house warm enough so that the pipes don’t freeze.
If you are one of those who have never experienced winter before, you’ll have to obtain a set of winter clothes one way or another. But it is absolutely unnecessary to freeze the way the Stones are doing. I just don’t feel sympathy for them today.
Of course, the contrast between winter and Thailand is brutal, especially when you throw in (so to speak) an elephant.
Can you send photos on Twitter? I’d love to see what gramma looks like on an elephant! Come to think of it, I’d like to see Jan Eliot’s idea of an elephant!

Andy Fox is cheap. Val Stone is a single mother with two kids – whose main babysitter just ducked out for Thailand, no less. She probably can’t afford an increase in her utility bill!

Ajax what do you mean you save thousands of jobs. I’m not getting paid for this neither is my husband and I work pt. I hope Jan does send messages from grandmas Thialand adventures. Here it is cold but where I work the boss likes it warm makes it hard to dress right and not blanket necessary. SS should use sunggie blankets.

Sigh, everyone who thinks climate change is a “hoax” shows how ignorant of ANYTHING they really are. Here are the facts:
The CLIMATE is changing! Quit thinking of weather–it is irrelevant. Weather is what we see daily. It might be 70 degrees, it might be 50 degrees–it does NOT matter. Climate, however, is the overall conditions of an area as dictated over time. Most of us live in a temperate climate, some, such as Thailand are in a tropical climate. When your temperate climates start becoming tropical in the summers and arctic in the winters, you have CLIMATE change–a warm day in the middle of winter means nothing.
Here is all the proof I need that something screwy is going on (and I don’t much care about what causes it–I just know that life WILL be different). There is now a “North-West Passage”. Hudson got stuck in his bay when he sought it, the French got stuck in Canada. The English got stuck numerous times TRYING to find the NON-EXISTENT NW Passage. This was in 1600. This past summer, it was “found” and crossed. You can’t deny that this isn’t a sign that something is happening. It may be natural, it may be caused by human activity, WHO CARES?!?! but whatever the case, there is now a new trade route that had it been there 400 years ago, most of the people commenting here would be spelling a whole lot differently and speaking with a different accent.

You’ll get your chance next week. Jan is back from Thailand and has posted pictures and info on her blog. She specifically mentions we’ll see a picture of Gramma on an elephant on December 7th.

I don’t understand how ANYONE can think that all the millions of acres of grasslands and trees that have been converted to asphalt and buildings in the last 150 years, reflecting heat instead of absorbing it, or the amount of pollution we’ve released into the atmosphere in that same time frame won’t make the slightest difference…

Now that is the most intelligent post on global warming I’ve ever seen! May I quote you? Frequently?
Ushindi over 14 years ago
Actually, Roger, I eat quite a lot of meat - big BBQ fan, and most of my cultist agenda revolves around sex and beer. However, thinking that billions more of us building more everything has no impact is sticking your head in the sand, and what’s wrong with, as AmariT said, trying to do something to clean things up?
AmariT over 14 years ago
Just plain Steve: Why thanks! Quote me as much as you want.
