I trot out my nonmotorized little $100 job from Lowe’s. It doesn’t noise-pollute, it doesn’t air-pollute, and it burns precisely the fuel I want it to burn.

Not to detract from the cartoon’s joke, but Wikipedia describes the idea that Eskimos have a large number of words for snow as an “urban myth” (altho “urban” is not a word I usually associate with Eskimos).

The Inuit did have numerous words for the type of snow they were dealing with. When they get up everyday, they know there is probably snow (10 months of the year), but they needed to know what kind of snow to decide if they can go hunting. This has probably dissipated since they now live in houses and don’t depend on hunting as much for their living anymore.
