Man: When a recipe says "two parts" something to "one part" something, how do you do that? I looked and we don't have any measuring stuff marked "parts." I'm stumped. Woman: I'm speechless.

OK, gonna pick a nit here, but he’s holding a box of mix. One part of this and two parts of that is for recipes with an unknown quantity of end product. Doesn’t work that way for a box mix since the mix is a fixed amount. I know, I know…

mjensen - that exactly when you see instructions like that: 2 parts mix to 1 part water. Not uncommon with pancake mix, muffins, drywall mud, etc.

DigitalFrog…D’oh!!! that’s exactly right! I was thinking of it as a cake mix, mmmm, caaaaake! And now I know why my ‘drywall’ pancakes taste so bad.
