You really are first every time, aren’t you Marg?

Is there a reason for this?

Sounds like Hobbs could work for Al Gore, but then, he’s just a toy. Sorta like Al Gore!

Startle him, Hobbes. Fear is a constant, and nothing surprises anymore. Just a good, sudden pounce might do it.

On the contrary, you can beat marg. I’ve done it. But you have to get up pretty early in the morning (literally) to do it. :) I think she sits there and watches through the transition period, as I do.

    G’Morning Mike Firesmith and Loki.

So early people. At that hour of the day I am more likely to shoot someone in the hip than I am to shoot from the hip.

Hobbes, you are priceless. You scared me. No more TV news programs for you.

Calvin, your parents are adopting Rosalyn and she’s going to home-school you for the next 5 years … school has just been extended.

Come on Hobbes,Calvin has herd this so often it does not scare him much. You might try something like all ice cream trucks are banned from the roads. Grocery stores can not sell candy or comic books starting tomorrow mornig. The above will make his hic ups go away.

To be surprised, all Calvin has to do is yell “I’M HOME!”, or go stand next to Susie and she’ll remind him of another “bug assignment” to scare the hell out of him.

Those are some good ideas. This particular “episode” should be Calvin and ratlum and ComicMaddy.

Calvin, you and Susie are going to be adopted by Rosalyn, and you can’t take Hobbes with you so he’s going to the Sunnyside daycare center when he’s going to be chewed on by three year olds for the rest of time(or at least as long as his stitches hold) and you have to share a room with Susie and Rosalyn going to home school you. The school years extended so you have to go to school on Saturdays too and he has to get up at 5:00AM to do his chores. On Sundays his only regular day off from school his has to get up to go to church. He has to attend the 2 hour morning and evening Masses at three different churches. Then at 7:00 he has to go to CCD until 8:30 and he has to walk to all the places and you’re going to be on a dog leash and listen to Rosalyn read bible verses you need to do a report on in the morning. While you do it you’ll be tied to a chair. If you get anything wrong you get 20 spankings. By the way summer’s been shorten to three week and during that you’ll be sent to boot camp.

What works for me is taking a deep breath and holding it, then taking a drink of water, then releasing the breath. Sounds odd, but it does work.

I was simply going to say that Hobbes should tell Calvin that Roslyn is really his mother and Susie is his sister for a good scare ………. but I like yours much better!!!!!

Every day I check out the cartoon, but I don’t check out these comments very often any more. This will be the last time. It’s amazing to me how many people will be so eager - including either staying up late or getting up real early - to say nothing. My life isn’t that boring.
