I can hardly wait for some of the most delicious vitriol that the lefties will spew out of their intellectual minds, for there is nothing that gets them excited more than Sarah.

Come on guys, entertain us - now!

More publicity, more money for Ms. Palin. It is good to be reminded how we escaped having an idiot for Vice President after getting rid of one as President.

She’s old, but hey, did you hear that Levi Johnson will be posing for Playgirl? Sarah’s fame is probably the best thing that ever happened to him.

STEBON You sir are a fool. If you thnk her record and accomplishments are greater the what Mccain, Biden, and Obama have done. I know the right-wing needs a hero, but please choose a real one, not just the one Fox tells you to choose.

Have we already forgotten Pelosi’s rambling news conference where she tried to explain what intelligence from the CIA was or wasn’t given to her. Palin’s worse “idiot” moment was a throwaway line about Russia being near Alaska (which it is).

Justice 22, why do you think that we have escaped having an idiot for vice president? I thought that was the ONE thing both sides agreed upon.

“Because she actually has character, integrity and has accomplished more than her three other counterparts on the 2008 ticket combined.”

That is extremely overreaching, if for no other reason than age alone.

That said, comparison with 0bama is most apropos.

By the time he was elected President he has accomplished nothing outside of politics. Even the limited legal practice was oriented toward ‘community organizing’ - politics, to be kind. He didn’t even author a single article for the Harvard Law Review - of which he was president of for a bit.

Indeed, if she were a man and a Democrat at that, her private, business, and political executive experience would have silenced many a critic.

Palin qualified? Hahahahahahahahahahaha! She nearly killed her town (the crystal meth capital of Alaska!) with stupid deficit spending, fled her role as governor in order to avoid her dubious ethics being brought to light, and her husband is an Alaskan separatist (that’s open traitor to the US, for those not paying attention). And she has hired a ghost writer and got a good early ranking on Amazon. Big deal.

“I can’t wait to hear the right wing’s response to Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Well, the Nobel Peace Prize has become a disgrace.

Nevertheless, at first I thought that it was a joke.

He is in good company, with Arafat, Gore, Carter …enough said.

Palin’s experience does not stand up well to scrutiny. Yes, she left her city in huge debt; yes, she cost her city an extra $1.5 million in legal fees when she decided to begin constructing the sports stadium before the city held clear legal title to the land; yes, as mayor, she charged rape victims for the cost of the rape exam; yes, she was found guilty by her own party of making fraudulent expense claims as Governor and had to return money to taxpayers; yes, she quit — SHE’S A QUITTER — her position the people of Alaska elected her to because she became too addicted to the limelight.

Afraid of her? No, just amazed that this is the political figure some on the right choose to pin their hopes on.

Pres. Obama was all of nine years old when ACORN was founded. Whatever you think of ACORN, you’re quite stupid if you think you can convince people he’s responsible for the organization.

I note again how petergrt and avatrbr conveniently forget to acknowledge Obama’s three terms as an Illinois state senator when they recount — and I use that term loosely — his background and experience.

spam4all, you are still a most irritating twit

Some of these comments seem bizarre to me. AVATRBR, yeah, I’m highly employed, and in the top 1% of the US population for income, okay? I’ve employed people, made a payroll, and been in the private sector my entire career (though I was in a nonprofit for a while, my part of it generated revenue, so I wasn’t nonprofit!). petergrt: Why do you hate America? Isn’t it a good thing that the world (or at least the Nobel committee) thinks highly of our President now? rickbooker: what’s with the humming, dude? Forget the words?

Actually, he got the prize because he, 0bama, is anti-American!!!

This is the ultimate act of European condescension toward America.

But than, America to the left is just another country, albeit with Grand Canyon …

I happen to love America, have fought to defend it, and so has my son. I do have a low tolerance for idiots who would destroy it by ignorant name calling of those with greater wisdom than themselves, like well striper and scooter fer instance.

Again to “the book business”. Advance “sales” are orders that will usually end up on the remainder shelves and tables at book stores, sold at 90% off, or having their covers ripped off and returned to the publisher. I think this will undoubtedly be the fate of Palin’s pages. Maybe up in Alaska they can use them to replace old Sears catalogs in the “facilities” out behind the cabins.

How mentally deficient does one have to be to think Palin is a genius? Why is this country so anti-intellectual? The only thing America hates more than smart people is foreigners.

God forbid we get a smart person to run the place.

dtroutma - not hardcovers. They are sent back, but the covers aren’t ripped off. That’s just for paperbound books. (My wife and I are both published authors.) Otherwise, I agree. Pre-orders are not quite the same as sales; one reason publishers have an official “lay-down date” or release date is so all the preorders count as sales on that date. You could sell 10,000 books through preorders and not one after that, and still be a “bestseller” your first week.

How un-american is elitism? When I was young , during the Carter term, I remember a strong impulse for “intellectualism” right before Reagan had to come in and rescue the geniuses from the pit they dug for themselves. Because they actually thought Utopia was do-able. You guys are as predictable as a german clock. Read Eric Hoffer, enlighten yourselves as to the sufficiency of the common man to handle his own affairs.

    My favored wishful rant:
