Yes, this is an old one and usually shows up only when the cartoonist has no current issue. As such, my response is the same as well. Just how do you define yourself? I suspect Beckom’s phallus is the sum total of his manhood. Yet, despite having one, I doubt he’d be comfortable going to work in a dress and heels.

I don’t know the answer and happy I’ve never had to deal with it. But I can only imagine that it must be tough for parents, and~or children dealing with it..

I don’t disagree with Beckom here. All the surgery in the world does not make you the opposite sex it only gives the appearance of it. However, I find two things curious about the conservative response to this issue.

First, We’re talking about a tiny percentage of children. There are about 70 million children in the US. About 125 thousand are diagnosed with gender dysmorphia. that amounts to about 0.02% or one out of 500. This is not a huge problem, certainly not worth the press time it gets.

Second. You’ll notice right wing critics very rarely mention women who transition to men. It’s almost always about men who transition to women. It makes me believe that most of the outcry is about homophobia.

To answer the lefties criticizing this and not understanding the why. Mike is obviously commenting on J.K. Rowling dust up over the new Scottish laws on woke, misgendering and pronouns etc. she basically reflected what this ‘toon’s about. Basically told Scotland to fuq off as she wasn’t about to acknowledge trans, use inappropriate pronouns and dared law enforcement to arrest her. I believe Minnesota is working on a similar law that could land one in prison for five years for failing to use requested pronouns and causing “mental anguish “. It would be unconstitutional of course but democrats have shown that they don’t care about that. They’ll no doubt pass it anyway, causing all kinds of havoc until it is overturned in the courts.

Who cares what other people do with their bodies and lives? What possible impact could it have on you? I don’t care what pronouns people want to use, what they want to call themselves, what clothes they wear, or what bathrooms they use. It just doesn’t matter.
